Tummy Tuck

A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, removes excess fat and skin from the abdominal region. Tummy tuck surgery can also restore weakened or separated muscles, reestablishing the architecture of the patient’s abdomen. The result is a smoother, flatter appearance, as well as improved abdominal muscle function.

Ideal candidates for a tummy tuck at our NY office may have the following conditions:

  • excess or sagging abdominal skin
  • an abdomen that protrudes or is out of proportion with the rest of the body
  • abdominal tissues that have been separated and weakened
  • excess fatty tissue concentrated in the abdomen

In our state of the art surgical facilities in New York, a tummy tuck procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia and takes one to three hours to complete. Drs. Keegan and Vickery can assure a comfortable experience before, during and after the surgery for any patient undergoing the surgical procedure. Though many patients return home after their procedures, we offer one-on-one overnight nursing care for those who wish to remain in our facility until the following morning. We are also happy to arrange lodging in a nearby hotel for patients and families who may be visiting from outside of Manhattan.
